The Lollipop Shoes Review

Hi everyone :)

Sorry, I know it's been a while since my last review.
I haven't had all that much time to read.
But I finished 'The Lollipop Shoes' today (the sequel to Chocolat), and
it was iiiiiinnnncrrrrroooyable :)

It was actually very addictive despite what you may think considering my slow
reading. It was a fantastic sequel, and I think I like it even more than I did Chocolat.
Anouk (now Annie) is eleven in the novel, and she goes through lots of different things with her problems making friends, and choices she has to make. Vianne (now Yanne) is quite different, not as carefree as she was. But all these changes make the novel very interesting. One of the best mini series I've read in quite a while.

I must warn you, like in Chocolat, this book has many mouth watering descriptions. I came across one particularly delectable one today, which I had to read out to one of my friends in class today because it was so temptingly delicious. Here it is, 'It is intoxicating; as it melts the chocolate becomes glossy; steam rises from the copper pan and the scent grows richer, blossoming into cinnamon and allspice and nutmeg; dark undertones of anise and espresso; brighter notes of vanilla and ginger. ' YUM.
Slightly earlier they describe how they make their hot chocolate, 'She made the chocolate anyway, grating it into the hot milk, adding nutmeg and vanilla and a cardamon pod.'
Mmmm. That's what I've decided I'm treating myself to on Easter. Sounds amazing!
But WAY too tempting when trying to watch your weight.
I recommend this delicious book to anyone needing a winter novel :)

xoxo Ruby
